Jennifer L. Sparr

Jennifer is the Head of Ecosystem Building at the UZH Center for Leadership in the Future of Work. She manages our efforts to build the HR Valley® – our global people innovation ecosystem. For this role, she combines longstanding experience in research, education, and consulting practice. She is passionate about bringing people and ideas together for making a more human future of work happen – for example in our flagship C-Level Lecture Series on Leadership in the Future of Work or in projects such as the UZH-wide project “Future of Work @ UZH – Mobile Working”.

Jennifer received her PhD from the University of Konstanz, where her research focused on the impact of feedback from supervisors and the role of fairness perceptions. After her PhD, Jennifer spent a couple of years in management consulting, mostly working with strategic employee surveys to facilitate organizational development. As a postdoctoral scholar, she joined TU Munich, where she helped to build the Chair of Research and Science Management and a further education program for research managers. Back at the University of Konstanz and later at ETH Zurich and ZHAW she conducted well-published research on paradox and leadership in close collaboration with industry partners. In addition, Jennifer has lectured at all academic levels and is an experienced key-note speaker and workshop facilitator.

Her research has been published in leading management and psychology journals, including Academy of Management Perspectives, Academy of Management Collections, Journal of Applied Behavioral Science, Journal of Change Management, Journal of Business and Psychology, Frontiers in Psychology, Human Resource Development Quarterly, European Journal of Work and Organizational Psychology, Leadership and Organizational Development Journal, as well as practitioner-oriented outlets.
