Lauren Howe, Assistant Professor of Management at the University of Zurich, highlights the risks of being too deeply immersed in a career that one is passionate about. She remarks, “You can become so involved in your work that it's challenging to detach, leading to potential burnout or exhaustion.” Howe emphasizes that "moments of recovery are vital to reenergize." Furthermore, beyond just the nature of work itself, Howe suggests finding motivation by viewing one’s career as a pathway to support personal hobbies and passions. As an example, she points out that a paycheck can be the gateway to a dream vacation or purchasing new craft equipment."
